Last year, sadly Bill Newton-Smith passed away. He was my former tutor, friend, and close colleague, confidant, and 'boss' at the Central European University where he was Chair of Senate and I served as Secretary-General (CEO/Director) 1990-94, and close colleague within the Open Society Foundations work.
