Rediscovering the Real Darwin

This video was made at Charles Darwin's house, Downe House in Kent, England. In just 15 minutes it reveals what has been misunderstood about Darwin's theory of evolution, and why Lamark was rubbished by his contemporaries. Both Lamark and Darwin thought that acquired characteristics can be inherited, contrary to the modern theory of neo-Darwinism. The way in which that happens is also explained in the video.

Evolution Needs to Evolve

A fierce debate is underway over the legacy of Darwin’s theories of evolution. It is time to move on from Darwinism and Neo-Darwinism, according to Professor Denis Noble, Emeritus Professor of Physiology and Fellow of Balliol College. We need wider, integrative, approaches, involving proteins and RNAs as well as genes, he explains in this interview with Dr Paul Flather of Mansfield College and President of The Forum for Philosophy.

Origin Of Life: $10 Million Prize at the Royal Society

Where did life come from? Where did the genetic code come from? The Evolution 2.0 Prize offers $10 million to the first person to self-organise chemicals into code. At the Royal Society in Great Britain 31 May 2019, Perry Marshall tells the story behind the prize. Hosted by Oxford Professor Denis Noble FRS CBE. The discussion was facilitated and chaired by Dr Paul Flather, President of The Forum for Philosophy, based at the London School of Economics, and Fellow of Mansfield College, Oxford. Origin of Information is the central question in Origin Of Life ("Abiogenesis"). It’s critical to evolution itself. It is the most fundamental scientific question that can be precisely defined. A breakthrough may be as valuable as Einstein’s E=MC^2 or the invention of the transistor. Perry Marshall is author of "Evolution 2.0: Breaking the Deadlock Between Darwin and Design."
